Using context clues is really helpful when trying to determine the
definition of an unknown word. As you may know there are a lot
of words in the world that you probably don't know. With context
clues, you can find the definition of a word by examining the
words that surround it. In conclusion, being able to use context

Synonym or Restatement - When you use two words
in a sentence that mean the same thing. Antonym or Contrast - When you use two words in a sentence that mean the opposite of each other. Example - Examples are used to help the reader understand the definition of the word by its use in a particular sentence or situation. Comparison and Contrast - When you define the definition of two or more subjects, or words by looking at their similarities and differences. Cause and Effect - The relationship of 2 events, where one event causes, brings about the other, the result or effect. |

Symbol - A story contains symbols to help the reader identify the theme. A symbol is an object, person, place or event that is used to stand for an idea, or value.
